Corner of the Queen Palace (Palazzo Corner della Regina)
The palace is the residence of the historic Archives of the contemporary arts of the Biennale of Venice. Inside we find a film archive, a newspaper and periodical library, a photographic library, a disc and tape library, an artistic fund, an historical archive, a documentary archive, four auto reproduction laboratories and a centre of data elaboration.
The Gallery of Modern Art (Galleria d’Arte Moderna)
Paintings, graphic and sculpture works of modern and contemporary artists of different nationalities are displayed at the gallery.
Oriental Museum
Holds works from the Far East, such as: sculptures, lacquers, ivories, paintings and porcelain from Japan, Java, China and other countries.
St. Giovanni Evangelista’s School (Scuola di San Giovanni Evangelista)
From P. Lombardo’s renaissance courtyard, it is possible to access the courtyard that leads to the school and to the gothic Church. The upper hall’s ceilings and walls are decorated with paintings from the 16th – 18th century.
Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari
The Church was rebuilt in 1639 and has an eighteenth century interior. G. A. Guardi’s paintings are highly considered. It was erected by the Franciscans in 1340–1443. The Church with its gothic shapes has a severe facade with a mixtilinear finishing touch, apart from the marble portals on the sides.
Saint Rocco’s School (Scuola di San Rocco)
The building was built between 1517 and 1549. The facade was designed by Scarpagnino, whilst the halls are decorated with large canvas by Tintoretto.
